The #1 Secret to Shooting A Basketball That 99 Percent of Coaches Won’t Tell You

Thank you for subscribing to Hardwood’s Basketball Blog!

I’m glad you’re here.

If you are new and just “meeting” me, my name is Derek Griffin, Professional Shooting Coach and Founder of Hardwood Evolution Basketball.

(nice to meet ya)

After a lifetime of playing at a professional level and teaching basketball I started my own basketball business both online and on the floor to simply fuel my own passion for the game and to help fuel passion for the game for youth athletes.

Since 2014 I have personally worked with HUNDREDS of parents and their kids to win more games, make more shots and to develop average players into elite, D1 elite athletes.

I wanted to take a second to say hello and welcome you Hardwood Evolution!

One thing I find is that most players come to me frustrated… shooting at about 25% from the free throw line.

They don’t know what’s wrong with their shot or how to make more shots.

We casually shoot around where I am taking note to what’s going on and it’s always starts with the same issue: poor alignment.

Basketball players like Steph Curry, JJ Reddick, Clay Thompson, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant all have similarities in the way they shoot the basketball.

One thing they all have in common: proper alignment. Their hand, elbow, knee and toe make a perfect vertical line.

This is what most coaches won’t tell you because of this myth that players just need to “perfect your own shot”. This get’s me fired up!

It could not be further from the truth.

Alignment is physics. It’s science. It’s how your percentage will go up!

Sure, there is an adjustment period where we have to rewire muscle memory. But after you pass that thresh hold.. you will be unstoppable.

That is the #1 Secret to making more shots!

How is your alignment?

If you’re not entirely sure, you can submit your shot to me every month where I will tweak it until we get you making shots with perfect alignment. That’s right – I can be your personal shooting coach.

I’ll be sharing more with you, but in the meantime, check out how I work with players on my member’s page.
